He has Been
You’ve been rejected “one too many times,”
Your dreams have been shattered like glass.
You’ve been fighting so many battles,
Wondering if this too really shall pass?
You’ve been buried under love’s burned bridge,
Crushed by trust that’s been torn apart.
Drowning in the sea of pain & regret,
Is there any hope for your wounded heart?
You’ve been trying to see in the darkness,
Searching for the truth and light of day.
Wandering through the long wilderness,

When your soul has been gasping for air,
Your spirit heavy from the weight of sin.
You feel like maybe you are too far gone,
To know joy and peace again within.
When you wrestle & wonder where He’s been,
When it feels you’ve been left all alone.
Choose to trust & believe that He’s been,
With you each moment, & He’s still on the throne!
In all your have beens, He’s been.
He’s been faithful & He’s been good.
He’s been gracious & merciful,
Even when you’ve felt misunderstood.
He’s been what you are searching for,
The answer to your questions & calm to your fears,
He’s been the healer your heart desperately needs,
The Comforter in your times of pain & tears.
He’s been the breath in your lungs,
The One that has you in His hands,
You must choose to trust & surrender,
To His perfect way & great plans.
He’s been the One that has loved you enough to stay,
The One who accepts you & calls you by name,
He’s been your Savior, Redeemer, & Best Friend,
Jesus has been & always will be the same!
